Walter McCarty's Game 6 Playoff Raffle

Congratulations to Christopher Rogers and his son who got to come down to Boston from Maine to watch a Celtics playoff game and meet Walter McCarty! Chris provided us with an amazing recap of their experience:

"There is an old cliche' that "timing is everything." I entered a raffle April 26th to win 2 Celts playoff tickets being listed by Walter McCarty to raise money for a wonderful organization he founded called One Up Music Foundation. My oldest son and I are avid fans and were looking for a positive outlet while my son works through treatment to eradicate a brain tumor. I received a call April 27th that we won, right after we returned home from a doctor's appointment that revealed a promising scan that the treatment may be winning the battle against the tumor. We attended the game April 28th, had a sensational time, and had the distinct pleasure of meeting Walter after the game. Walter was warm and engaged, offering genuine concern and encouragement for my son, and then presented Ryan with a ball signed by the team. Walter also gave Ryan a couple of “I Love Waltah” shirts, reminiscent of the famous line Tommy Heinsohn coined as an announcer when Walter played for the Celts from 1997-2004 and established himself as a fan favorite with his clutch play and sheer hustle. This was an experience my son and I will never forget. Who wouldn’t love Walter?"

It was so far beyond what any of us expected and I want to thank you for the opportunity to experience this."  Below are some of her pictures from the Western Conference Quarterfinals Game 1 experience in the LA Kings Ice Box.
